Petra Galović is a graduate student of Art History and Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. She was a member of the editorial board of the Kulturflux web portal for several years, and is currently the editor of the Culture Desk of Radio Student. She wrote film and exhibition reviews, juried for two film festivals, and curated several contemporary art exhibitions.
As an art history student, her interest in the EUPLM program was to extend her knowledge of photographic heritage care, both in a practical and theoretical sense. The EUPLM gave her concrete and pragmatic skills on how to approach various photography collections and archives, understand their systems and handle them, and to present and interpret their significance accordingly. Interdisciplinary and complementary modules of the training provided her with a broad scope of different approaches to photography as an object, a medium, and an image, and served as a vade mecum for photographic legacy management.
