Keeping an artist’s legacy alive is a difficult task. An interesting example to study is Magnum Photos, the photographic cooperative which for decades has promoted the work of late photographers Robert Capa, Eve Arnold, Werner Bischof, Inge Morath or W. Eugene Smith, among others.
What are some of the key processes to ensure the preservation and valorisation of photographic artworks today? During the Conference entitled “ARTISTS’ LEGACIES Preservation, Study, Dissemination, Institutionalisation”, held by the Foundation Arpad Szenes-Vieira da Silva in Lisbon, 20-21 May 2021, Ana Isabel Cruz Yábar had the opportunity to introduce the concept and purpose of The Cycle’s training programme.
