I graduated from Spéos in 2019 as a photojournalist and documentary photographer, and since then I have been doing freelance work.
This training was intriguing for me since I didn’t really know what to expect. First off, we learned about the materials that we had to handle. Then, an understating of the operation of how those photographs made it all the way to the agency, then the press -or whatever their destiny might have been- to identifying the needs of preservation and valorization of an archive. This is where our work begins: asking ourselves questions but also proposing solutions.
This is a training I would recommend for the curious of mind. It’s a whole other world and by working with elements of the past, we can keep solidifying our future.
